Attorneys Liz Valerio and Nick Dominello will present at the annual School Law Day conference of the Massachusetts Association of Personnel Administrators (MASPA) on March 17, 2023.  Liz and Nick will discuss employee conflicts and leaves, including paid parental leave.

Ann Marie Noonan to Present at Massachusetts Municipal Association (“MMA”) Webinar

On Tuesday, March 7, 2023 Ann Marie will present at the MMA webinar.  Ann Marie will be on a panel discussing legal considerations for social media policies and practices for municipalities and their governing bodies.

 

 

Nick Dominello Named President of the Massachusetts Council of School Attorneys (“COSA”)

Effective January 1, 2022 Nick Dominello was named President of the Massachusetts Council of School Attorneys, an affiliate organization of the Massachusetts Association of School Committees (MASC).  After serving as a former COSA Officer, member at large, Nick was elected President of COSA for a one-year term (January 1, 2022 through December 31, 2023) during the organization’s 2021 annual meeting.

Nick Dominello to Present at 2021 Massachusetts Association of School Business Officials (“MASBO”) at their December Bi-Monthly Meeting

On Thursday, December 9, 2021 Nick will present at the MASBO Bi-Monthly Meeting in Milford.  Nick will be discussing how to use collective bargaining to increase student achievement.

On Monday, June 15, 2020 Liz Valerio was a presenter with the Massachusetts Association of School Committees panel “Preparing for Collective Bargaining in an Era of COVID-19″.  Topics included bargaining during COVID-19 and other back-to-school issues facing Massachusetts Districts.

On April 17, 2020 Liz Valerio and Nick Dominello presented at the Massachusetts Association of School Personnel Administrator’s webinar, Responding to COVID-19 Issues in Schools. Topics discussed included: Families First Coronavirus Response Act, furloughs and layoffs, leaves of absence, transportation issues, school approved trips, educator misconduct and educator evaluations.

Liz and Nick will be discussing the following topics: the Americans with Disabilities Act and reasonable accommodations including service and emotional support animals in the workplace; state ethics law and public school employees; and collective bargaining issues including strike threats and strike preparation.
